12x12 DCWV Wall Decor

In the beginning of April I made this awesome wall hanging for my 15-year-old niece Mia. She loves everything to do with music and the quote that best describes her is "Music is my Life." So when I saw this paper in DCWV's "Colorful Life Stack" I knew right away that I wanted to make this for her.

The background is exactly how the paper looks I didn't have to change it at all. (I love how glittery it is.) I just the cut Peace, Love & Music from the "Rock Princess" cartridge, added yellow Stickles to it and glued it to the page. It was super easy and fun and my niece loved it.

After my sister Tanya (Mia's mom) saw it she decided to make some thing similar for her 9-year-old daughter.
We used the lite cartridge "Twinkle Toes" for the ballet shoes and for the words and background mat we used the "Storybook" cartridge. All paper on this project came from DCWV's "Black Currant" stack. This project was so much fun for us to make and looks so amazing in person, the picture just doesn't do it justice.
We hope you enjoyed and have a great day!

Birthday Bash Card

My Mom just reminded me that it is my Niece's 3rd Birthday tomorrow. So I made this super simple and quick card.

I used my brand new "Birthday Bash" cartridge to cut the elephant.

I used an "Action Wobble" to mount the elephant.

Here is the inside. The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's.
I hope you enjoy and have a great night.

My Very First Mini Album!!

Today I made my very first mini album! I have been wanting to make one for a long time now but was too intimidated to get one done. Well, Mollie over at Cricket's Cricut Creations has a challenge going on to make a mini album and I thought what a perfect time this would be to try my hand at one. Now, I'm not totally happy with how this came out but since it's my first one I'm not going to worry about it too much. ;) I got my instructions from a Video Mary made at Cardz Tv click HERE to see the video.

This album was made for my 7-year-old son.

Here is the front cover with the bow tied.

With the bow untied. His nick name is "X-Ray"

Here is the first pages when you open it up. I am going to be adding to this every once in a while as a surprise for my son. So one day I might fill out the journaling tag and then maybe a few days later I'll add the picture. This way he'll get excited to see if I've added things to it.

These are the next pages. The tag has "See You Later Alligator" stamped on it because it's one of his favorite things to say.
Under that tucked into the strip of polka dot paper is a drawing he made the other day.

These are the same pages but I flipped the tag around. Every once in a while he says some really silly things and I wanted to to have a place I could add one of his funny sayings.
Here is the back flap. The pocket and tag came from the "Sweethearts" cartridge.

Here is the tag when you pull it out.

This is the back side of the album. The orange triangle is a pocket that I plan to fill up with a letter to my son. His older brother made the little charm and hung it from a paper clip.
Here is one full side.

The other full side.
I hope you enjoyed my project and have a great day.

Scrapbook Layout ~ Throwback Thursday

This is a LO I made for the challenge going on over at Emma's blog, "Throwback Thursday".
You had to use a Lite cartridge and make a scrapbook layout.

I decided to use the "Handy Man" cartridge to make a LO for the pictures I have from when we build our house 2 years ago. The title was cut using "Pooh Font" cartridge. The tool box is made with the shadow so I can use it for Journaling.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

Spring Home Decor

Hello and welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge.
This weeks Challenge theme is:
"Spring Has Sprung In Our Homes."

If you are new to Whimsical Wednesdays we have a scrapbooking challenge the first Wednesday of the month, and then other paper crafting projects each Wednesday for the rest of the month. You will have 2 weeks to enter each challenge.
For this weeks challenge I decided to to decorate a watering can as a center piece for our table.

Sorry about the pictures I had a really hard time taking them. The flash kept bouncing off the can.
I bought to can for .50 from a thrift store and used my can opener to cut open the top.

I am very new to using vinyl (this is only my second time.) and I don't have very many colors so instead I used "Plantin Schoolbook" to cut out the flowers and grass in white and then used my Bic markers to color the white vinyl the colors I needed. (my vinyl came from "oh my crafts.")I also added i-rock gems to some of the flowers.
I really love the water color effect it gives it!

The Button is tied with "Pink Sherbet" bakers twine from the "Twinery"

Spring is cut from the "Easter 2010" cartridge.
(I cut the flower that was attached off.)
Please be sure to hop over to the Whimsical Wednesday blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration.
You will find the link there to enter your project for this challenge, and the guidelines. We can’t wait to see what you will create.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

Easter Goodie Boxes

Here are some Easter goodie boxes I made for my kids' Easter baskets.

I used "Tags, bags, Boxes & More" cartridge for the carrot boxes cut with my Gypsy at 5.71 (You can fit 2 on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper.)
I also ran my carrot through the Cuttlebug with the "Distressed Stripes" CB folder before putting it together.
The stem is made with scraps of green paper run through my crimper.

Here is a close up.
The stamp is a Hero Arts stamp I bought 8 years old. I colored it with a Bic marker and inked the edges of the circles. I tide the charm with "Cappuccino" bakers twine from The Twinery.
I Hope you enjoy and have a great day. :)

Peachy Keen has a wonderful sketch challenge going on right now that I thought would be perfect to try these stamps out on.

Here is my card.

Recipe:

I'm a Guest Designer Today :)

Today I have the honor and pleasure to be a guest designer over at Jen's blog

Here is the info for my project: Today I decided to make a Spring banner. The umbrella was cut from the "Create A Critter" cartridge at 6in. The purple paper I used came from the DCWV "Summer Dream" stack. The font cartridge I used was "Don Juan" and the letters were cut at 2.25in in pink glitter cardstock from DCWV's "Glitter Cardstock" stack. I also inked all the edges with brown ink.
This was really very quick and simple but I love it.

I hope you enjoy my project and have a great day!

Throwback Thursday ~ You're a Good Noodle

I made this card for the Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge.
For this challenge it had to be cricut-less and you also had to follow a sketch.
The digital stamp came from MelJen's Designs under the freebie section.
(I got this months ago so I'm not sure if it's still available.)
I colored the stamp w/ Bic markers and added fruit punch & cinnamon Stickles.

This is the inside.
The sentiment stamp is from Scrappy Moms Stamps.
The meat balls were made with a 3/8in punch I distressed them and covered them with Cinnamon Stickles.
(My niece bumped me when I was doing the sentiment. )
I love you Mia. :)
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!!

Wild Flower Scrapbook Pages

Hello and Welcome to the Whimsical Wednesday Blog Hop!
We are glad you could join us. You should have arrived here from Stephanie alwayscrafting. If you just stopped by to say hi you can start at the beginning of the hop by clicking here Whimsical Wednesday.
Here is my project

Here is the first page: My page sizes are 8.5x11. My family and I find this to be the best size for us as they fit perfectly on a book shelf in our living room and it is easier for our kids to look through them then the 12x12 scrapbooks.

Here is the second page: For this layout the title was made using the "Sesame Street Font" cartridge (Sunny Day w/the shadow) I alternated between lowercase and uppercase. The 3 sunflowers were cut from the "Stretch Your Imagination" cartridge also with the shadow. The title has diamond Stickles on it, and the sunflowers have yellow Stickles also all edges have been inked with brown.
Here they are side by side.

This is the card I made.
I decided to use the left over paper I used on the LO on the card. This sunflower was also cut from the "Stretch Your Imagination" cartridge. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms stamps. The extras on this card are: White gel pen, gold gel pen, Cinnamon Stickles, brown ink, and Fiskars Threading Water punch. The button was tied with yellow and white bakers twine.
I hope you enjoyed and a have a great day!
