What's Your Summer Blog Hop ~ Day 2

It's Day 2 of the blog hop and I am so glad you have come back. All of the projects yesterday were amazing and we had such a wonderful turn out! If you just came from Amanda - amandascraftsandmore then you are in the right place but if you just stopped by you will want to start at the beginning of the hop at
so as not to miss any of the fabulous projects along the way.

It was so much fun seeing what everyone elses favorite thing were about summer. One of my very favorite things is all the Bar-B-Qing that we do. Nothing in my opinion tastes better then when it's been grilled over flames on the Bar-B-Q.
So for my project today I decided to make a center piece for our table that I'll use when we Bar-B-Q.

All of the images were cut from my "Block Party" Lite cartridge. I used several different embossing folders to add texture and also some stickles and gel pens to make the images pop.

Here is a close up of the images.
I will be entering this in to the Decorate to Celebrate challenge.

Now you are off to Theresa -thescrapbookingqueen

Here is a list of the entire blog hop in case you get lost along the way.

What's Your Summer Blog Hop ~ Day 1

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to the "What's Your Summer" Blog Hop. If you just came from Amanda - amandascraftsandmore then you are in the right place but if you just stopped by you will want to start at the beginning of the hop at
so as not to miss any of the fabulous projects along the way.

Todays hop is all about Summer!! I have to say I am sooo ready for summer to be here! I miss the warm golden sun, bright colors, and fun on the our waverunners. :)
For my summer project I decided to make home decor for my mantle.

All the cuts for this project were cut from my "Life's A Beach" cartridge. To make the letters more interesting I ran them through my crimper. The background paper is from DCWV's "Citrus" Stack.

Here they are on my mantle. Please ignore the sockets that don't have covers, we just recently painted the wall burnt orange and have not bought new covers for them yet. :)

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge ~ "Tag It"

Welcome to our Whimsical Wednesday Challenge!

Todays challenge is ~Tag It!
Make a tag and it must include bling.

I must say this truly was a challenge for me. I have never done a tag before and had no idea where to start or what I wanted to make. I don't think I have ever stressed about what to make for a project as much as I have for this challenge.

I started on it pretty late at night and was too tired to finish it so I took a sneak peek picture and left it on my table deciding I would finish it in the morning. Well, it turns out my 4 year old daughter did not like what I was doing with the tag and decided she needed to add her own special touch to it. needless to say I had to make a new one. (The second picture is of both of the tags.)

The tag I made today I made for my 9 year old daughter. (The fairy really reminded me of her.)

The tag was made using "Tags Bags Boxes and More" cartridge. (although there are lots of other cartridges that have tags on them.) The pink layer was cut from the "Love Struck 2010" cartridge. I added Lavender Stickles, and a purple metallic gel pen to highlight parts of it. The stamp is from Scrappy Moms stamps and the twine is from The Twinery. For the bling I used my i-rock and clear gems.

Here are both tags together. She took off all of the gems because she didn't like where I had put them. After thinking about it I decided she was right so when I made the second one I did the gems in a wavy patteren instead of straight.

To get all the detail about the challenge and to see the tags the other wonderful DT members have made head on over to the Whimsical Wednesday Blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Adoption Invites ~ Bugaboo Digital Stamp

As some of you know my husband and I are foster parents. We currently have 3 wonderful children in our care.
But on June 2, 2011 we will be adopting our beautiful 8 month old baby boy!!
I am so excited I feel like my heart is going to explode! He is the biological brother to our wonderful daughter Sunshine (which we adopted 3 years ago.)
So in honor of his adoption I made up some post card invites to give out to our neighbors/friends so they can come and celebrate with us.

(Sorry the picture isn't so great, it has been so rainy and gloomy here.)
I used a Bugaboo Digital Stamp for these that I colored in with Bic markers. (some day I hope to be able to afford some Copic markers but for now these will have to do.)
I kept them very simple and easy just adding brown ink and doodling with my gel pen.

Here is the set I made. I hope you enjoy and have a great day!!

United We Stand Card

Hello everyone.
It has been a crazy day here but I managed to squeeze in a quick and simple card. I made this card for 3 challenges the first being "The Kraft Journal" the second being Crazy About Cricut's "Thankful Thursday" and the third being "Creative Cutter Room"
To see all the details about these challenges swing by their blogs.

The base of the card is kraft card stock and the card measures 4x9in. I used my "Stand and Salute" cartridge to cut out "United We Stand" I did all the layers using kraft, blue, and red card stock and doodled with my white gel pen. I'll be sending this to my Brother and his wife both of which are serving in U.S. Army.

I hope you enjoy and have a great day. :)

Non-Cricut "Life's A Beach" Card

I am so ready for summer!!
I am not a huge fan of Winter or Spring although out of the two I'd rather have Spring.
My husband has been mapping out plans and dates for when we can take our waverunners out on the lake and it has made me really, really want summer to come.
Although we had lots of sun this last weekend it is now pouring rain outside. So to cheer myself up I decided to make a beach themed card.

For this card I used a free digital image I got off the web but for some reason I can't remember where I got it.
(If anyone knows where this came from please let me know so I can give that person credit.)
For this card I colored all of the images with my Bic markers.
I colored 2 of the same stamps so I could pop-dot them up.

Here is a close up of the sentiment which I printed off my computer.

This is showing you how I pop-dotted most of the images to add dimension.

I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

Whimsical Wednesday ~ Shape Card Challenge

Welcome to our 6th Whimsical Wednesday challenge!

Todays challenge is to make a shape card.

For todays challenge I decided to use my "Sesame Street Font" cartridge. This cartridge is so darn cute!! I originally just made the Cookie Monster card but it was so easy and fun that I decided to make a few more. :)
I will be giving these to my Mom for her little preschool class that she teaches at church. My little girl fell in love with them so I'm sure my Mom's class will have fun with them.

I hope you enjoy and thanks for stopping by.

Don't forget to swing by the Whimsical Wednesday blog to see what the other wonderful DT members have come up with and I can't wait to see what you all come up with on this challenge.

Sugar and Spice Lite cartridge ~ Thank You card

For this card I used the "Sugar and Spice Lite" cartridge.
The paper came from SEI Black Orchid stack and the stamp is from Micheal's. I kept this card very simple, the only extra thing I did was inking the edges with brown.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!

Whimsical Wednesday Scrapbook Challenge

Welcome back for another Scrapbook Whimsical Wednesday.

The challenge this week is to make a
Birthday layout with some kind of embossing.
I have made a 2 page 8.5 x 11 layout.

(Here is my 1st page. )
All images on this 2 page LO where cut from the Cricut "Birthday Bash" cartridge. I heat embossed the polka dots on the banner with clear embossing powder and added bakers twine in Lemondrop from The Twinery. The 3 was embossed with my Cuttle bug and the Swiss Dots CB folder.

(Here is the 2nd page.)
The octopus' face was stamped with Peachy Keens Retro Paper Doll face assortment. (This face is one of my favorites. I love how excited he looks!) I used the Swiss Dots folder again to emboss the balloons and used The Twinery's bakers twine to do the strings. All papers except for the kraft came from DCWV Celebration Stack and the red polka dot ribbon came from Stampin' Up.

Here are both pages together.

Please stop on over at the Whimsical Wednesday Blog to see what the talented design team has come up with for your inspiration and for all the details about the challenge. Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! :)

Teacher Appreciation Card

Wow, It feels like it's been forever since I've been able to craft. The last couple of weeks have been kind of busy here so I apologize that I haven't posted anything in a while and that I haven't been able to comment on all of your wonderful posts. I plan to catch up this weekend.

Today I have been able to squeeze a little bit of time out of my day to make a card for my son Isaac's teacher. (I'm hoping to make make the rest of my kids' teachers cards tonight after all my kids have gone to bed.)

For this card I used my "Simply Charmed" cartridge to cut the background paper and the crayons and for the "A+ Teacher" I used my "Locker Talk" cartridge. The bakers twine is Lemondrop and I bought it from The Twinery.

Now I have to run. I'm in the middle of making 60 Mother's Day card kits for a couple of Kindergarten classes and they need to be done by tomorrow. :) Yikes!

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day. :)
