Whimsical Wednesday Card Challenge

Welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge.

This week both card teams have come together for our challenge, to make get well cards for a very special little boy. Angelo, who is the grandson of Margie from Bella Bug Creations, is going through a very difficult time right now. He underwent brain surgery last week and will begin chemotherapy next week. You can read more about Angelo at this post over at Margie's blog http://bellabugcreations.blogspot.com/2011/06/angelo.html. We hope that you will all join us and make a card for Angelo too.

For my card I asked my boys what they would like to see on a get well card if they were to receive one and 2 out of the 3 said they would like a car or truck so that is what I went with.

The truck and and green hills were cut from my “Mickey and Friends” cartridge and the road was cut from my “Everyday Paper Dolls” cartridge. I embossed the yellow piece on the truck with my CB Diamond Plate embossing folder and doodled with my white gel pen. I kept this card very simple since it is for a little boy. :)

The sentiment was printed off of my computer and says

“Sending a truck load of Get Well Wishes.”

I hope you enjoyed my card for Angelo and can’t wait to see what you all will come up for him. To see what the other wonderful members of Whimsical Wednesday have come up with click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Scraproom Sign ~ Inking It Up Crazy Guest Designer

Hello my crafty friends!

Kassidy at Inking It Up Crazy is having a "Birthday Bash" this month and has invited me to be a Guest Designer and the theme she asked me to work with is "Craft Room Decor." As many of you know I have just recently been given my own craft room. (The baby now happily lives a cross the hall.) So this project is one I have been very excited about doing as I have no cute decor on my walls. Until now!!

For my sign I used a dresser drawer front from an old broken dresser we had. Before my husband threw it away I asked him if he would save all of the fronts and drawer pulls as I was sure I was going to need them someday. :) The saying was cut out in white vinyl and the cartridge I used was "Once Upon A Princess". The black, white, and silver paper are rectangles I cut with my paper trimmer and the scissors were cut from the "Simply Charmed" cartridge. Since the dresser had some paint chipping on the edges and was a little dented up I decided to make it kind of shabby chic and sanded all around the edges. Last I added some leopard print ribbon. I plan to hang it on the drawer pull that I saved but I'm painting my craft room purple tomorrow so I decided not to put another hole in the wall and instead just hung it up with a push pin. :)

I hope you enjoyed my project.

Now it is time to head over to Inking It Up Crazy so you can enter to win all the amazing prizes she has up for grabs. :)

Hope your Birthday is a Blast Rocket card

I made this card for 2 challenges.

My card inspiration today came from a baby blanket my mom made for my son Lucas. The background paper looks just like the pattern on the fabric. I love when I get inspired by the things that are around the house. :)

I cut the rocket and green mat from the Cricut Lite "B is for Boy" cartridge. I added Stickles for bling to the white parts, stars, and flames.

The sentiment was printed from my computer and punched with a Stampin' Up XL word window punch and inked in red.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day. :)

Red, Yellow, White Flower Card

If you are looking for my Decorate to Celebrate post please scroll down.

Welcome to our Whimsical Wednesday Challenge!

Today's challenge is ~ Fun With Color

This week at Whimsical Wednesday's we are having a color challenge and have a photo for inspiration. We all had to use the colors Yellow and Red and then we could chose another color/colors from the photo on our card/project.

The picture below is the inspiration picture.

For my card I decided to go with the colors Red, Yellow, and White.

The flower was cut from the "Paisley" cartridge" The yellow section was embossed with CB's Polka Dot folder and the red sections was embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I added red and white twine and a polka dot button and the border punch is Fiskar's "Threading Water". Also the white bling in the center of the flower is I-Rock.

Decorate to Celebrate Challenge ~ 4th of July

Welcome my crafty friends!
Rhonda of Scrap Happens with Rhonda and Amy of Love to Crop have teamed up to start a new challenge blog... Decorate to Celebrate.

It's all about "Decorations to Celebrate" an occasion. Cakes, Banners, Boxes, Goody Bags, etc.

I am so excited that today I have been asked to be a Guest Designer!! The theme I was asked to work with is "4th of July"
On the 4th of July my family spends the whole day down at a huge park eating, listening to music, and other live entertainment until it gets dark and we can watch the amazing fireworks. Well, this year I decided to make my kids some goody bags full of mini coloring books, crayons, glow sticks, candy, etc so that they wouldn't get bored. (There is nothing worse then bored kids when the adults are trying to catch up. LOL)

For these bags I cut the "fireworks" and "4th of July" from the "Stand and Salute" cartridge. I on purpose did not line up the layers because I wanted more of the red to show through. I added ultra fine glitter to the white layer for lots of sparkle. The area was too big to use Stickles. :)

Here is a close up of one of the bags.
For the bag topper I used Diamond Stickles for the sparkle. I doodled with my gel pen and added bows to the corner made out of twine from "Divine Twine".

I just want to say a Huge thank you to Rhonda and Amy for inviting me to be their guest, please head over to their Blog - Decorate to Celebate and be inspired by all the fabulous creations.
Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!

Sugar and Spice ~ Baby Boy Card

Over the weekend I went to my very first card swap. For the card swap we got to pick from several different categories which card we wanted to make and then we had to make 20 of those cards. For my card I decided to make a " New Baby Boy" card. (I am obsessed with anything baby boy right now.)

For this card I cut the giraffe from the Cricut Lite "Sugar And Spice" cartridge. I decided not to cut the face that comes with it thinking that I would use my PK faces instead but unfortunately I couldn't find my black ink to stamp the faces so I just used googly eyes and hand drew the mouth. The 2 ovals were cut from "Plantin Schoolbook". The stamp came from Michael's dollar bin and I used my circle punches to cut them out. To make it pop I embossed with the CB "Polka dots" folder, added orange Stickles, and stitched with a gel pen.
Here they are all together. I hope you enjoyed and have great day!

An Apology and an Update :)

First off I want to apologize for not posting a project in so long. We have been so busy here since school got out 2 weeks ago.
On the last of school two of our foster kids (our 9-year-old daughter and our 6-year-old son) were able to return home to live with their Mother. We are very happy and excited for them but also miss them tons. It has taken us a while to get adjusted to having them gone and have been busy reorganizing the house now that we have more space. With having more space has come me having my own craft room!! First, I was in the kitchen at the table with as much of my stuff that would fit in the pantry but having to clean up for every meal time got very old. So I moved upstairs in to the baby's room which has been fine and was a total upgrade from the kitchen, but again I still couldn't get all my scrap stuff out since I needed to work around the baby's stuff and his schedule. Now I have been able to move the baby out and have the space all to myself!! But I want it to be totally girly so I have been packing everything up so I can paint it and get my new craft furniture all put together and everything organized. (I'm still in the packing phase.)

We also had the most wonderful thing happen to our family. On June 2, 2011, we were able to adopt our third foster child, our baby boy Lucas!! He is now 9-months-old and absolutely amazing!! We feel so happy and blessed!!!

Now that all the excitement and change is starting to die down I will be able to get back into the groove of crafting and posting projects. Although since it is summer it probably won't be as much as I want since all the kids are home and we tend to do tons of camping and playing at the lake during the summer. But I will do my best. :)

Here is a picture of our beautiful Lucas after his adoption.

Have a great day!!!

Whimsical Wednesday ~ "Fun In The Sun" Scrapbook Challenge

Welcome back for another Scrapbook Whimsical Wednesday.

The challenge this week is to make a

Summer Layout and it must have stamping.

I have made a 2 page 8.5 x 11 layout.

(Here is my 1st page. )
The images on this page where cut from the Cricut "H20" cartridge. I used Peachy Keens "Princess Face Assortment" for the little girls face. I added Stickles in Diamond to the water drops and twine bows for her hair.

(Here is the 2nd page.)
On this page I cut the sun and sprinkler from the "H20" cartridge and the little boy was cut from "Everyday Paper Dolls" cartridge. The "Fun Times" stamp was from Michael's $1.00 bin and the boys face came from PK's "Everyday Character Face Assortment".

Here is a close up of the little girl.

And a close up of the little boy.

Here are both pages together.

Please stop on over at the Whimsical Wednesday Blog to see what the talented design team has come up with for your inspiration and for all the details about the challenge.

This week, Emma From My Creative Time, is our sponsor. One random winner who enters the challenge will receive Emma's newest stamp set Have Fun In The Sun. This set is perfect for those summer cards and scrapbook pages.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day! :)
