Scrapbook Layout ~ DCWV Sketch Challenge

Today I made a layout for the challenge going on over at the DCWV Blog. Every month Erin posts a sketch challenge. I have been wanting to participate for a while now but always feel too intimidated about the idea of converting the 12x12 layout sketch to a 8.5x11 layout. Well today I decided to pull on my big girl pants and give it a try. :)

In this layout my little man Lucas is trying to sit up on his own on the couch. He had a ton of fun and it only took him about half an hour. As you can see in the top left photo he finally did it but he was starting to get really tired.

I laid him done in his playpen so I could go make him a bottle and less then 5 minutes later this is what I found. My little man was out cold!!

On this page I did the same LO but flipped it.

Here are both pages sided by side. I love how this layout turned out!

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridges: Zooballoo (For the titles), B is for Boy (for he lion), Sugar and Spice (for the lamb).
Cardstock: All the pattern paper came from DCWV.
The strips are from "Animal Crackers" and the safari paper is from "All About Boys".
The green and yellow polka dot strip is also from DCWV but I can't remember what stack. :(

Swing By the DCWV blog and try the sketch out for yourself.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and have a great day! :)

Sugar and Spice ~ Baby Boy Card

Over the weekend I went to my very first card swap. For the card swap we got to pick from several different categories which card we wanted to make and then we had to make 20 of those cards. For my card I decided to make a " New Baby Boy" card. (I am obsessed with anything baby boy right now.)

For this card I cut the giraffe from the Cricut Lite "Sugar And Spice" cartridge. I decided not to cut the face that comes with it thinking that I would use my PK faces instead but unfortunately I couldn't find my black ink to stamp the faces so I just used googly eyes and hand drew the mouth. The 2 ovals were cut from "Plantin Schoolbook". The stamp came from Michael's dollar bin and I used my circle punches to cut them out. To make it pop I embossed with the CB "Polka dots" folder, added orange Stickles, and stitched with a gel pen.
Here they are all together. I hope you enjoyed and have great day!

Sugar and Spice Lite cartridge ~ Thank You card

For this card I used the "Sugar and Spice Lite" cartridge.
The paper came from SEI Black Orchid stack and the stamp is from Micheal's. I kept this card very simple, the only extra thing I did was inking the edges with brown.
I hope you enjoy and have a great day!
