Thinking of You Card

Welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday.

Today's challenge is all about "Funky Folds"
Create a card that is anything but a shape or A2 style. Examples: easel, gatefold, waterfall

For my card I decided to make an Easel card.
The card I made is a sympathy card for my friend Katie who's mom died last week.

For this card I used the "Storybook"cartridge to cut out the image. The sentiment stamp Is from Hero Arts and the flower is from Petaloo. I used a Viva Decor pearl pen for the peals and the pattern paper is Basic Grey.

The sentiment on the bottom is from my computer and says: "Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you, and loving memories to heal your heart."

I hope you enjoyed my card and can't wait to see what "Funky Folds" you can come up with for this weeks challenge.

This week we have two prizes. The first one is a package of action wobbles from our Whimsical Designer Glora.
Thank you Glora for sponsoring us with these fun scrappy wobbles:)

Now head on over to the Whimsical Wednesday blog to see what the other amazing designers have come up with.

A Child's Year ~ Birthday Card

This post is going to be short and sweet. We are getting ready to go camping for a few days but I wanted to get this up before we leave.

Here is super quick and simple card I made for my brother's birthday. The plaid paper is from DCWV's Summer Dream paper stack. The image is cut from "A Child's Year".

I forgot to take a picture but the inside says. Have a Happy and Relaxing Birthday. :)

Layout for Scrappy Moms Tuesday Challenge ~ Preserves

I made this layout for Scrappy Moms Tuesday Challenge. For this challenge you had to used the Preserves cartridge.

This is a 1 page 8.5x11 landscape layout. The pictures are of my niece, Mia, at out last family reunion. There is just something about food that Mia loves. She can't help but start playing with it. Most kids I think grow out of this phase around 5, but not Mia. Every time she has food in her hand she does these goofy weird Mia things with it and I was lucky enough to catch some of those pictures to scrapbook. :)

For this layout all of the watermelons and the journaling tag were cut from the "Preserves" cartridge. The "Sweet 'n Sassy" on the tag is from Scrappy Moms "Sweet Somethings" set. The "Mia +Food=Huh?" was printed from my computer. I also added twine and did a tiny bit of doodling with my black gel pen.

I hope you enjoyed the layout and have a great day. :)

Little Boy Scrapbook Pages

Welcome back for another Scrapbook Whimsical Wednesday.

The challenge this week is to make a interactive layout:

It must have something on it that moves or is interactive: examples would be a tag that comes out of a pocket, having a critter (or some sort of cut) that you incorporate a flap that opens and shows a picture or journaling. You could even incorporate the elements that are on a spinner card or waterfall card.

Here is a little back story on today's layout. Our 10-month -old son Lucas LOVES being outside so anytime he's fussy we take him out to the front porch and it calms him right down. Well, the other day his teething was unbearable. He was screaming and nothing not even sitting on the porch could calm him down. The only thing that would make him happy was eating the leaves on our tomato plants. So my husband and I just let him go to town while I took tons of pictures. :)

Here is my 2 pg 8.5x11 layout.

The cartridge I used for this whole LO was "Freshly Picked". I printed the Yum,Yum, Yummy with my computer and doodled with my gels pens. On the stems of the tomatoes I added lime green Stickles. For the fence I embossed with CB Distressed Stripes folder.

(Here is the 2nd page.)
On this page my interactive parts are: the tag that comes out of the pocket and the green stem comes out of the dirt and will have journaling on them. The gnomes face is Peachy Keens Retro set and the dirt is embossed with CB Tiny Bubbles folder.

Here are both pages together. I pulled up the stems so you can see the journaling tag attached.

Please stop on over at the Whimsical Wednesday Blog to see what the talented design team has come up with for your inspiration and for all the details about the challenge. I can wait to see what you will create for this challenge. :)

Welcome Banner

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to the Whimsical Wednesday blog hop.
You should have arrived here from Stephanie’s blog www.alwayscrafting.com If you just happened to drop by to say hi please go to the Whimsical Wednesday blog to start at the beginning of the hop.
For this hop we were all asked to make banners or some kind of door décor that will be used to decorate the nursing home we are sending them to. To read more about this head on over to the Whimsical Wednesday blog and click on the link to get all the info.
For my project today I decided to make a banner. I had originally designed a banner on my Gypsy using my Birthday Bash cartridge but as I was getting ready to cut it out I noticed that my USB port had broken and fallen into my Gypsy. Needless to say Provo Craft is going to replace it but I will be a couple of weeks without her or the ability to manipulate images to the way I want them. So for this banner I needed to go old school and what better cartridge is there to use but the "Mini Monograms" cartridge.

I cut my banner base and all the layers from this cartridge and then used my “Nursery Rhymes” cartridge to cut the letters. The patterned paper all came from DCWV’s “Mango Frost” Stack and the solid came from DCWV “Summer Dream” stack. I inked around the papers with brown and added i-Rock studs in gold. The banner pieces were tied together with ribbon from my stash and the letters are mounted on foam tape to add a little dimension. I chose to keep this banner pretty simple without a lot of embellishment since I would have to mail it.

(If you want to see the picture better click on it to make it larger.)

Here is a close up of one of the letters.
