Home For The Holidays ~ Whimsical Wednesday Challenge

Welcome to Whimsical Wednesday. Before I get to my project I want to let you know that today is my last day as a Whimsical Wednesday designer and although I am really sad to say goodbye to such wonderful design sisters. I am very excited for what the new year will bring in the crafting world. :)

Today's challenge is to create a

"Winter or Christmas theme home decor project."

For my project I made a Christmas present centerpiece for my kitchen table.

The tag was cut from the Cricut Very Merry tags cartridge and stamped with "No Peeking" from Stephanie's "Snow Much Fun" stamp set. To top it off I made a bow out of ribbon.

Here is a close up of the tag and the super cute sentiment. :)

Here is a close up of the bow with a snowflake brad.

For this project I chose to do a layout. on this project the stamps are "Elves at Work!" and "No Peeking" both of these sentiments are from the "Snow Much Fun" set.
The cartridges I used are: Paper Doll Dress Up, Winter Frolic, Create a Critter, and Freshly Picked.

Here is my last project. For this card the adorable cake was cut from the Cricut Simply Charmed cartridge. I added crinkle ribbon, Stickles, and white gel pen. Guest Designing for Decorate to Celebrate ~ Jungle/Safari First Birthday

Today I am Guest Designer for Decorate to Celebrate!!

This month at DTC, there is a HUGE birthday celebration going on to celebrate Rhonda’s and Amy’s Birthdays. With this being a Birthday Celebration, I decided to share with you the decorations I made for my baby’s first Birthday.

We chose to have a Baby Jungle/Safari themed party for our little guy. For the goody bags I used Create a Critter for the hippo and zebra, and for the elephant and monkey I used New Arrival.

The banner was made using Birthday Bash, New Arrival, and Create a Critter.
(This is so much cuter in person!!)

The next few pictures are closeups of the cute baby animals.

I made these as wall decor.

These are the cupcakes we did instead of cake. The toppers were finger puppets that the kids had so much fun playing with.

And here is our sweet little man enjoying his cake and ice cream!

Please swing by the DTC blog to see what the other guest designers have come up with and to enter your birthday creations into the challenge.

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge

Welcome to another Whimsical Wednesday!
Today's challenge is " Happy Turkey Day"
For this challenge you will need to create a card or any kind of project with a Thanksgiving theme.

This year for Thanksgiving I am making activity bags for my kids so they will have something to do while the grown ups are busy. (you can see the goody bag Here.) So today I made coloring books for them. The turkey was cut from the Cricut "Stretch Your Imagination" cartridge.
The back ground papers are all scraps and are embossed with Cuttlebug's "Houndstooth" folder.
(I kept these very simple since they are for little kids.)

Here is the inside.
All of the coloring pages are Cindy's Digital Stamps. You will find them HERE.
I hope you enjoyed my project. Please to to Whimsical Designs to see what the our wonderful ladies have come up with for this weeks challenge. :)

We would love for you to use one of Cindy's digis but if you don't have any yet that is fine to. You are also welcome to use your Cricut or another digi. We want everyone to be able to play along with us. :)

This year for Thanksgiving I think I am going to make little activity bags for my kids so they will have something fun to do while the the grown ups are busy cooking.
Here is the one I made for my oldest.

For my project I cut my bag and tag from the Cricut "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge. The Orange cardstock and polka dot ribbon are "Dusty Durango" from Stampin' Up. My kraft cardstock was embossed with Cuttlebugs "Polka dot" folder and my fabulous image is from Cindy's store HERE and is called "Happy Thanksgiving" To finish my project off I wrote in my son's name and added faux stitching with my gel pens. For my project today I chose to use the image "Sweet Gingerbread Tags". This actually comes with 2 images a girl & a boy. For my project I chose to use only the boy.
I printed the stamps out on Kraft cardstock and then colored them in with my bic markers. (I was inspired to did this by DCWV's new kraft paper stacks.) I used Viva Decors pearl pen in Cream to color the frosting. It gives it such a great effect! I then added Twine, buttons, and stitching to finish off my card

I can’t wait to start showcasing these fabulous new stamps. You are going to LOVE them!! The release date is just round the corner so you are going to want to stayed tuned for the next few days to get all the information. J
Alright, now on to my project.

Today’s challenge is- “Any Thing Goes”
For my project I decided to make an 8.5x11 scrapbook page of my oldest child. I am so grateful for ALL of my wonderful children but for this challenge I chose to focus specifically on him. He has been so amazing and wonderful in this last year since the baby came. He is always so willing to help in any way possible changing, diapers, making bottles, reading to his other siblings, and even helping them with homework if I’m busy with the baby; all with little to no complaint. I don’t know what I would do without him. He is such a blessing in my life!!
For this layout I cut the title from 2 of the fonts on Cricut’s “Boys Will Be Boys” cartridge. The second thing I cut was the files on the side of the photo, these were cut from the Cricut “From My Kitchen” Cartridge.

Here they are pulled out so you can see them. My husband and I have written a letter to our son on these cards telling him how much we love him and how grateful we are for everything he does but for privacy reasons I chose to take the picture before writing the letter. J
Our sponsor for this week is our fabulous and talented design sister Nanne. Nanne has donated a variety of Webster's Pages Scrapbooking Supplies. Thank you Nanne!!
To see what the other amazing designers have come up with please go to our Whimsical Wednesday page HERE at Whimsical-Designs. (Whimsical Wednesdays new home.)

Simply Charmed Tree card

IF you are looking for Whimsical Wednesday click HERE

There is a group of women in our neighborhood that gets together every 3 months to do a card swap, usually 20-25 women participate. The theme this time was to make a card without a sentiment so the recipient could use it for any occasion.

Since it is coming up on Thanksgiving I decided to do a fall card. I Always seem to need a Thinking of you or Thank you card this time of year.

Here is the card I made and the 20 more sitting beside it.

I had wanted to do some embossing on the tree but since I didn't start them till the night before the swap I wasn't really thinking clearly and didn't realize I hadn't done the embossing till after I'd already glued the trees together. :(

RECIPE:

CARTRIDGE- Cricut Simply Charmed

PAPER- Scribble Scrabble

RIBBON- Michael's

OTHER- White Gel Pen

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day. :)

Whimsical Wednesday ~ "Fall Cuties"

Welcome to another wonderful Whimsical Wednesday.

Today's challenge is "Fall Cuties". You must make a card or project with a animal cut or animal stamp and be Fall themed. Our design team sister Cathryn came up with this challenge. :)

For my card I decided to break out my Cricut "3 Birds On Parade" for my animal cut. I used "Gypsy Wanderings" for the postage stamp cut and the beautiful crinkle ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique. Last but not least the sentiment is from Tanner's "Simply Everything Vol.1" stamp set.
I have on more card to show you. :)

Today we have the pleasure of show casing Tanner's aka Mr Cricut Crazy stamps so here is the second card I made. As some of you know, I love making and sending Halloween cards so today I decided to squeeze in one last Halloween card of the season. The Little Girl was cut From Cricut "Paper doll Dress Up". Her face was stamped with PK Princess Face Asst. Her hair was embossed with Cuttlebug's "Divine Swirls". I added Stickles and then Glossy Accents to her shoes. I used a dollar stamp from Michael's to make the strip of paper using kaleidoscope powder and heat embossing. The dripping honey is the "Drippy Goo" punch from Martha Stewart. And Finally the embossed Bee and the sentiment are from Tanner's "Simply Everything Vol 1" set.
We have two wonderful Sponsors today.
I hope you enjoyed my cards and to see what the rest of the wonderful DT has come up with please visit the Whimsical Wednesday blog.
Have a great day!!

Super Cute Card Set

Today I decided I wanted to use up some of my Halloween scraps so I wouldn’t have to store them for the next year.

To do that I made a super cute and quick card set for my son’s teacher.

The images were all colored with Bic markers and they are the “Halloween Sweet Folks” set from Peachy Keen.

I embossed the background paper with Cuttlebug’s “Polka Dot” folder, added white stitching, and the scraps are from K & Co.

Below are each of the cards.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and have a great day. J
