Simply Charmed Tree card

IF you are looking for Whimsical Wednesday click HERE

There is a group of women in our neighborhood that gets together every 3 months to do a card swap, usually 20-25 women participate. The theme this time was to make a card without a sentiment so the recipient could use it for any occasion.

Since it is coming up on Thanksgiving I decided to do a fall card. I Always seem to need a Thinking of you or Thank you card this time of year.

Here is the card I made and the 20 more sitting beside it.

I had wanted to do some embossing on the tree but since I didn't start them till the night before the swap I wasn't really thinking clearly and didn't realize I hadn't done the embossing till after I'd already glued the trees together. :(

RECIPE:

CARTRIDGE- Cricut Simply Charmed

PAPER- Scribble Scrabble

RIBBON- Michael's

OTHER- White Gel Pen

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day. :)

Whimsical Wednesday ~ "Fall Cuties"

Welcome to another wonderful Whimsical Wednesday.

Today's challenge is "Fall Cuties". You must make a card or project with a animal cut or animal stamp and be Fall themed. Our design team sister Cathryn came up with this challenge. :)

For my card I decided to break out my Cricut "3 Birds On Parade" for my animal cut. I used "Gypsy Wanderings" for the postage stamp cut and the beautiful crinkle ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique. Last but not least the sentiment is from Tanner's "Simply Everything Vol.1" stamp set.
I have on more card to show you. :)

Today we have the pleasure of show casing Tanner's aka Mr Cricut Crazy stamps so here is the second card I made. As some of you know, I love making and sending Halloween cards so today I decided to squeeze in one last Halloween card of the season. The Little Girl was cut From Cricut "Paper doll Dress Up". Her face was stamped with PK Princess Face Asst. Her hair was embossed with Cuttlebug's "Divine Swirls". I added Stickles and then Glossy Accents to her shoes. I used a dollar stamp from Michael's to make the strip of paper using kaleidoscope powder and heat embossing. The dripping honey is the "Drippy Goo" punch from Martha Stewart. And Finally the embossed Bee and the sentiment are from Tanner's "Simply Everything Vol 1" set.
We have two wonderful Sponsors today.
I hope you enjoyed my cards and to see what the rest of the wonderful DT has come up with please visit the Whimsical Wednesday blog.
Have a great day!!

Super Cute Card Set

Today I decided I wanted to use up some of my Halloween scraps so I wouldn’t have to store them for the next year.

To do that I made a super cute and quick card set for my son’s teacher.

The images were all colored with Bic markers and they are the “Halloween Sweet Folks” set from Peachy Keen.

I embossed the background paper with Cuttlebug’s “Polka Dot” folder, added white stitching, and the scraps are from K & Co.

Below are each of the cards.

I hope you enjoyed my cards and have a great day. J

BOO!

Today I have another wonderful Halloween card made with one of Cindy's Little Creations adorable digi stamps.

This adorable little guy is called "Say Boo"

I kept this card really very simple as it is supposed to be a masculine Halloween card. The background paper is from DCWV’s Midnight Spell stack. I heat embossed around the haunted house and added glossy accents to the bats. The “Boo” was colored with Prisma colored pencils and I added embossing around the ghost. (not too much sparkle.) To finish it off I added some Divine Twine and doodled with my gel pen.

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day.

Just a reminder, Whimsical Wednesday has a fabulous new challenge up today. You’ll want to swing by and check it out.

Wishing you a Happy Birthday!

I made this card for my husbands cousin who's Birthday is around the corner. I knew after seeing this adorable digi stamp from Cindy over at Cindy's Little Creations That I needed to use her for this Birthday card.

For this card I used the spider web punch from Martha Stewart along the side and used my white gel pen to add stitching. The background paper is from K & Co last years Halloween line. The white paper was embossed with Cuttlebugs "Polka Dot" folder and that cute little witch is from Cindy over at Cindy's Little Creations and is called "Witch With A Banner." She was colored with my Prisma colored pencils and is pop dotted up on the polka dot paper. I added Stickles in "Lime Green", and "Orange Peel" and as a finishing touch I added little orange earrings.

On this card I also colored and re-cut, then, mounted on pop dots several parts of the image. (the banner w/sentiment, hat band, and patch.) Here is a closeup so you can see the great dimension it adds.

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day. :)

Happy Halloween!

Today’s card is very simple but I love it!

The orange back ground paper was made using Cindy’s pumpkin digi stamp called "Pumpkin Cutie". I high lighted them by adding Stickles in Lime Green, Cinnamon, and Fruit punch to the leaves, stem, and cheeks. The sentiment stamp is from Peachy Keen and the border stamp is from Michael’s. I heat embossed both with white.

I hope you enjoyed my card and have a great day.

Whimsical Wednesday ~ No Tricks Just Treats

Welcome to our Whimsical Wednesday challenge.
Todays challenge is “No Tricks, Just Treats”. You will need to create a bag, box, or some fun way to wrap up treats.
This challenge was so much fun to do that I decided to make 2 projects. :)

For my first project I decided to make a gift for my daughter’s dance person, Miss Lisa. The milk carton is a cut file I got from The Cutting Cafebut instead of cutting out the image that came with it I decided to cover my milk carton with some Halloween scraps.

Here on the side you can see the I used my embossing pen again. I picked out the vampire to do the embossing on.

I also used the pen on the bat border. I love how the embossing made it pop. The twine I used is Trendy Twine from Annie's Paper Boutique .

Here is a close up of the front. The tag is also from “The Cutting Cafe” and popped up on foam tape. That cute little pumpkin is a Martha Stewart stamp that I heat embossed. Now on to my second project.

After seeing the milk carton my daughter asked if we could make some little purses of her friends in the nieborhood. The purses were cut fom the Cricut “Plantin Schoolbook” cartridge and filled with some cute little goodies. These were finished off with a sentiment tag also from The Cutting Cafe that I tied on with Tinsel Ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique .

Here is a close up of the tag.
I hope you enjoyed my project and can’t wait to see what fun projects you come what with.

Super Cute Halloween Card

Happy Monday everyone!

My DT sister, Cindy from Cindy's Little Creations has been creating some of the most adorable and fun digi stamps I have ever seen and she was kind enough to give us some to try out.

I can’t wait to show you what I made with it.

Isn’t this little pumpkin so darn cute!! I just love these stamps! I made, correction, I had my husband make the cute and fun back ground paper with the same pumpkin stamp. It took him quite some time but I think it was well worth it. The cute little pumpkin was colored with my Prisma colored pencils and Glossy Accents added to the tooth and eyes. The beautiful crinkle ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique

To make this card really pop I actually colored two of the same stamp and then cut out the leaves and cheeks of the second one and mounted them on foam tape.

Here you can see the dimension in the picture.

Here is the inside.

The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps and says: "The smallest Pumpkins have the biggest Grins."

Here is a close up of a button I made by punching out one of the little pumpkins with a 3/8in punch from the background and coloring it with Bic markers.

I love how this card turned out! I hope you enjoyed and have a great day.

Welcome to our Whimsical Wednesday Halloween blog hop!
You should have come here from Shelly's blog but if not you should start at the beginning at the Whimsical Wednesday Blog so as not the miss any of the wonderful Halloween projects.

For the hop today I was asked to create a Halloween scrapbook layout. This layout was made for my then 3-year-old daughter's Halloween pictures and my then 5-year-old-son's Halloween pictures.
As is my usual size this double layout is 8.5x11

Here is the first page.
The title was cut from the Cricut "Birthday Bash" cartridge on white glitter cardstock. The spiderweb border is from Martha Stewart. I used tinsel ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique to add some bling to my photo mats. Down at the bottom the fence was cut from the Cricut "Paper Doll Dress Up" cartridge. My journaling pumpkin was cut from the Cricut "Create A Critter" cartridge. The extra pumpkin die cuts came from K & Company.

Here is the second page.
For this page the bats and moon came from K & Company, I added home made glitter spray to the moon to give it a nice sparkle and I added silver Stickles to the bats. The ghost are attached to a piece of cardstock that sides in and out as a jounaling tag and they were also cut from the Cricut "Paper Doll Dress Up" cartridge Their faces were stamped with Peachy Keen stamps.

Here are both pages of my 2 page layout.

Halloween Scrapbook Pages

Welcome back to another Scrapbook Whimsical Wednesday.
For the challenge today the Whimsical Wizards have created a Halloween scrapbook page and have incorporated a technique with instructions. Your challenge is to create a Halloween scrapbook page and incorporate one of the Whimsical Wizards techniques you have learned. Please include in your post who's technique you used. Our fellow DT member Chloe came up with this super fun idea.
First I will be showing you my layout and then I will show my technique. (This post is very picture heavy.)

Here is page 1 of my 8.5 x 11 double layout.
For this page I used the Cricut Cartridge "Happy Hauntings" to cut out the title, vampire, and bat. The blood was made using Martha Stewart's "Drippy Goo" punch and then I added "Glossy Accents" to make it stand out. The bat border came from "Ek Success". The coffin was cut from the Cricut "Paper Doll Dress Up" cartridge and will be used for journaling.

Here is page 2.
On this page the zombie, headstones, and title were also cut from the Cricut "Happy Hauntings". The moon was cut with a 2" circle punch and the bats are from the "Ek Success" punch and cut apart. To make the dirt I used crinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique.
I love how fun and amazing this ribbon is to work with and she has so many wonderful bundles to choose from.

Here are both of my 2 page Layout. For my technique I chose to use heat embossing on my pattern paper.
The following pictures will show how I did that.

Here are the supplies you will need. (Not pictured is a dryer sheet or "embossing buddy".)
1.) Heat tool. You can get one Here. 2.) Embossing pen. You can Get one Here. 3.) Embossing Powder. You can get the kind I use Here. (color "Kaleidoscope Transparent") 4.) Dryer sheet Optional. I chose not to use one since I like the added sparkle on the page.

Step 1 - Rub dryer sheet over the page to get out static.
Step 2- With embossing pen color over the images you want to emboss.
(I chose the moons.)

Step 3- Dump embossing powder over the images you colored over with the embossing pen.
Step 4- Shake off the excess embossing powder and place back in the container.

Step 5- Use heat to to seal the embossing powder.

Here is the final product. As you can see in the photo if you don't use something to get the static out of the paper the embossing powder will cling to other parts then the ones you placed the embossing ink on but as I stated before for me, on this project, that was ok.

I hope you enjoyed my project.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is The Prairie Bird Boutique. One random winner will get to pick out their own bundle of Shabby Crinkle Ribbon.
